Rye

About

Rye

Rye, the OG whiskey. Distilled from at least 51 percent rye this is bourbon’s bold spicy cousin that’s been around long before bourbon was born. The spice of the rye is harmonized with fruit, and enhanced with a whisper of vanilla and leather complexity. These distinctive flavors evolve during its beauty rest in charred new oak.

Once the most prominent style of whiskey, rye was nearly wiped out by Prohibition laws of the 1950s and '60s. Made by Scots-Irish settlers in western Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland, rye whiskey is the spirit of the old Americana, laying the foundation for today's American whiskeys.

Today, rye has once again stolen the spotlight. There is no minimum aging period for rye, but “straight rye” requires at least two years in the barrel. Make the rye-t choice, browse our bold selection of whiskeys below.
